xplorer² LITE is a shareware Windows file manager that adds functions beyond File Explorer. It browses files/folders, shows a Windows Media Player feed for media files, and adds context-menu options such as color tags. The Workbench tab offers bulk rename (extensions, filenames, automatic counter), file splitting into chunks, and tags/comments for sorting. 64-bit is paid only.

xplorer² LITE is a file manager for Windows developed by ZABKAT. It is shareware, version 6.4.0.1, in the System Utilities::File & Disk Management category. It supports Windows 11, Windows 10 32/64 bit, Windows 8 32/64 bit, Windows 7 32/64 bit, Windows Vista 32/64 bit, and Windows XP 32/64 bit. It is intended for Windows users who want additional file management functions beyond File Explorer.

The program takes the concept of File Explorer and adds features for navigating files and folders. On startup it shows the files and folders on your system, and you can browse them. If a clicked file is media-related, it displays a Windows Media Player feed on the right side. Right-clicking a file opens a typical File Explorer context menu with additional xplorer² functions, including color tags for organizing and reorganizing.

The Workbench tab includes bulk rename and file-splitting options in the Lite variant. Designating macro and user commands requires the Premium version. Bulk rename can change file extensions and filenames and provides an automatic counter, among other options. The split file function splits larger files into several chunks to make moving them more convenient. A tags/comment feature allows for easier sorting.

A 64-bit version is only available via paid tiers. The source description states that the native File Explorer is decent, but extra functions such as bulk rename and file-splitting make xplorer² LITE worth considering for file exploring beyond what Microsoft offers.
