EMDB is a free DVD catalog for organizing a personal movie collection. It can import movie information automatically from IMDb, display cover thumbnails and search saved entries. A loan tracker helps record discs lent to others, while CSV, text and website exports provide ways to use or share the catalog outside the program. Its multilingual interface supports collectors who prefer different languages.

EMDB is a free movie catalog for people who want to keep a searchable record of a DVD collection. It stores movie entries in a personal database and helps distinguish what is owned, what has been lent out and what is available to watch. Rather than relying on notes or memory, users can browse one organized collection and look up titles with the built-in search function.

Movie details can be imported automatically from the IMDb database, reducing the amount of information that must be entered by hand. Cover thumbnails provide a visual way to scan titles, while the search feature helps locate a particular movie in a larger catalog. Together, the imported information and cover previews make the database useful both for maintaining an inventory and for choosing a film from the shelf.

A loan tracker records DVDs lent to other people, making it easier to see which items have left the collection and follow up on returns. For use outside the program, EMDB can export collection information as CSV or plain text. It can also generate a complete website from the catalog, giving users another way to present or consult their movie list. Its interface is available in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.

The program suits home collectors who want a straightforward way to catalog DVDs, check their collection, track loans or share an inventory. A searchable catalog can also help when planning purchases by showing which titles are already recorded. The export options support keeping a separate copy of the collection details or publishing them as a web-based catalog, while the cover thumbnails make browsing less dependent on remembering exact titles.

EMDB is freeware for Windows, including Windows 7, and is available for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. It is written in C++ and does not require the .NET Framework or other external libraries, so the catalog can be maintained without installing those additional components. Its focus is DVD collection management: it organizes movie records and related loan information rather than serving as a media player.
