Secondary Viewer Photo Viewer displays images on a computer's secondary screen, such as a connected HDTV, and can run automatic slideshows. Images may also be advanced manually, resized with Lanczos resampling and shown with an identifier taken from the filename. It supports common formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF, alongside numerous less common image and graphics formats.

Secondary Viewer Photo Viewer is an image viewer for people who want to display photographs and other graphics on a second monitor or television. It is useful when a computer is connected to an HDTV or another large display and images need to be shown separately from the desktop's main screen. The program can also run image slideshows automatically, making it suitable for presentations, photo viewing and unattended displays.

Images can be advanced manually or played in an automatic slideshow. Manual control suits browsing or presenting a selected sequence at the operator's pace, while automatic playback can keep a display running without someone advancing each image. The program can show an identifier taken from an image's filename alongside the picture, which helps associate displayed photos with file names or other naming conventions. Unicode support accommodates filenames containing characters from a wide range of languages.

The viewer handles a broad selection of image formats, including common JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF files, as well as JPEG 2000, PSD, PSP, DDS, HDR, TGA and Kodak Photo-CD images. It also supports less common formats such as SGI, Amiga IFF, Sun Raster, X11 bitmap and pixmap, fax images, and portable bitmap, graymap and pixmap files. This range can be useful when a collection includes graphics from different applications or older systems, rather than only standard digital photographs.

When images are resized for the secondary display, the program uses Lanczos resampling to preserve detail as dimensions change. This is particularly relevant when photographs do not match the screen's resolution. Typical uses include showing a collection on a television, running a slideshow at an event, or presenting reference images on a separate monitor while keeping the main desktop available for other work.

Secondary Viewer Photo Viewer is trialware and is intended for Windows systems, including Windows 7 and both 32-bit and 64-bit editions listed for that platform. Its focus is display and slideshow playback rather than image editing or photo-library management. Users choosing it should check that their image formats and dual-display setup suit their needs; the application's broad format support does not replace tools for editing or organizing a collection.
