BS Rename is a portable Windows app for batch renaming files and extensions without installation. A folder navigator supports file masks and shows original and new names, extensions, sizes and modification dates. It can convert underscores to spaces, remove duplicate spaces and set the current date.

BS Rename is a portable Windows application for changing file names and extensions in batch mode. It is intended for users who need batch renaming, with advanced naming options particularly relevant to experienced users. The developer is Broto Suseno, and the listed version is 2.7.1 under a Demo license.

The program supports Windows 11, Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. It does not require installation: its files can be stored on a hard drive or USB flash drive and launched from the executable. It does not change Windows registry settings.

A built-in folder navigator lets users locate a directory and apply file masks. Users can view the original and new file name and extension, file size and date of last modification. File names can be changed by adding a prefix, suffix or infix, replacing text, trimming characters from the left or right, or converting case. Extensions can be modified in similar ways. Optional numerical incrementation supports a starting number, step and padding, with the number placed as a prefix or suffix, or used as a replacement for the name or extension. The program can also convert underscores to spaces, remove duplicate spaces and set the date to the current date.

Files from different folders cannot be renamed at the same time. In the reported evaluation, the program used low CPU and RAM and completed tasks rapidly, but some files could not be renamed; it displayed an error without stating the reason.
