What is New:
Network, web protection & Safeweb/Secure DNS:
More robust Secure DNS failover:
When no DNS-over-HTTPS server is reachable, the backoff logic and retry intervals are now respected instead of collapsing back to rapid retries, reducing unnecessary traffic and timeouts.
Configurable behaviour under repeated DNS errors:
Admin-level settings can now limit how often new server lists are downloaded and whether DNS server re-selection should be triggered at all when persistent errors are detected.
More defensive CSV parsing of server lists:
The parser for downloaded server lists has been replaced with an RFC-compliant, more robust implementation to better handle malformed data and avoid resource exhaustion.

VPN stability:
Top VPN crash during shutdown fixed:
A null-pointer dereference in the VPN service shutdown path (seen as a top crash in telemetry) has been fixed, improving reliability when turning VPN off or shutting down Windows.
TuneUp – Data Recovery:
Excluded folders are now respected on all supported file systems:
In Data Recovery, folders marked as excluded (including system folders) are now correctly skipped even on FAT32 and exFAT volumes, so scans and results no longer include content the user opted out of.

What Was Fixed:
Installer & Removal:
The removal tool now shows the correct product name and partner-branded caption, and no longer displays an outdated message in these scenarios.
Firewall & VPN:
Fixed an issue where a manually added firewall component could be removed during a product update. Manually installed firewall protection now stays in place.
Network & Web Protection:
Fixed unnecessary background checks of secure DNS servers on network changes when DNS protection is not enabled. These checks now run only when the relevant protection features are turned on.
Deepfake & Media Protection:
Resolved a problem where automatic media scanning for fake audio could cause the app to freeze and close. Media scans now complete reliably without creating error reports in this scenario.
Home Screen & Graphics:
Fixed a problem where some illustrations on the main security screen were not downloaded correctly, leaving blank image areas. The images now load as intended.
Scam Protection Dashboard:
The scam dashboard now shows scam details in the same language as the product interface, instead of always using English.

The small change in the build is related to the Norton brand only and because it shares the common stack, the build is new for Avast too.

Deepfake Guard visibility fixed: Deepfake Guard is now displayed immediately after it becomes available, without delay.

Private Browser status reflects in UI after installation.
License Migration:
Fixed issues where migration showed incorrect product states or missing account details.

Fixed an issue where boot-time scans failed to start and remained stuck.
Password Alerts:
Fixed broken alert flow for exposed passwords.
Service Stability:
Resolved crashes in background services after migration to A1F.
