Creating objects involves creating a family and then individual objects. The creation window is split into two sections for filling in physical and orbital elements, such as radius, mass, luminosity, eccentricity, and inclinations. Objects require additional details. A drop-down menu offers types including star, planet, moon, spacecraft, and projectile.

A simulation starts at the press of a button. It advances time and displays real-time feedback according to the details provided in the creation window. Several configurations customize how the simulation runs. The algorithm can be Newtonian or based on General Relativity. Time step options specify what a second represents in the simulation, with choices ranging from seconds to years.

AstroGrav is not an application for observing the universe. It is a tool for simulations and scenarios. The template library provides a starting point, while object creation requires effort to generate accurate results.
