Wave Corrector cleans up vinyl, cassette and other analogue recordings by detecting and reducing clicks and hiss. Its waveform display lets users compare repaired audio with the original, audition individual corrections and adjust them manually. Filters address hum, rumble and tonal balance, while track-splitting and tagging tools help prepare album recordings for playback and archiving.

Wave Corrector Standard Edition is an audio restoration and editing program for people digitizing vinyl records, cassette tapes and other analogue recordings. It detects clicks and hiss in recorded audio and provides tools for reviewing and adjusting the repairs. Its waveform display makes the program useful both for listeners who want to clean up an album transfer and for archivists who need closer control over individual corrections.

Automatic de-clicking offers block and super-scan options for finding transient noise, while de-hissing targets steady background noise. The program reconstructs the waveform beneath detected clicks, then displays corrected and original waveforms together for visual comparison. Users can audition individual repairs and adjust them, or insert and remove corrections manually. This review process helps preserve musical details when an automatic repair needs refinement, rather than requiring every detected click to be accepted unchanged.

Digital filters provide additional cleanup, including reduction of hum and rumble and adjustments to tonal balance. A recording console supports attended recording as well as unattended timed recording, which can be useful when capturing long-playing records or scheduled material. For albums recorded as one continuous file, automatic or manual track splitting separates the audio into individual tracks. Track editing tools can add boundary fades or silence, and tagging helps organize the resulting files. Support for compressed audio formats includes the use of external command-line encoders.

A typical workflow is to record or import an analogue transfer, apply click and hiss correction, inspect any questionable repairs, and use filters as needed. The recording can then be divided into tracks, edited at the boundaries and tagged for easier playback and archiving. Wave Corrector is suited to preserving older recordings as well as preparing cleaned-up album files for everyday listening; the combination of automatic processing and manual correction also accommodates recordings with uneven or more prominent noise.

The program is offered as demo software and is intended for Windows, including Windows 7 and Windows 7 x64. Its focus is waveform correction and track preparation rather than general-purpose multitrack production. The recording console, visual repair controls and splitting tools bring capture and basic restoration tasks together in one application.
