TMPGEnc DVD Authoring Works edits video and assembles it into DVD-Video, Blu-ray BDMV, AVCHD or DivX Ultra projects. It imports many common video formats, camcorder footage and photos; users can trim scenes, add transitions and subtitles, adjust audio, create menu-driven navigation, preview the project, then output and burn it. Smart Rendering can reduce re-encoding of compliant MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC footage.

TMPGEnc DVD Authoring Works is a video-editing and disc-authoring application for preparing DVD-Video, Blu-ray BDMV and AVCHD projects. It is suited to home video makers and other users who want to assemble footage, refine clips and build a navigable disc without handling every authoring standard manually. Projects can use video from camcorders, compatible media files, non-copy-protected discs or still photographs.

The workflow divides authoring into stages, beginning with a project format and guided source import. In the editing stage, users can trim clips, remove unwanted scenes or commercials, arrange footage and add transitions or subtitles. Audio tools include gap correction, noise reduction and fade-in or fade-out, while support for Dolby Digital 5.1 audio provides a surround-sound option when preparing compatible projects. A slideshow project can combine photos into a disc presentation in standard or high definition.

Menu creation follows editing. Users can start from menu templates or design custom interactive menus, then preview navigation and playback in a simulation stage before output. The final stage prepares the project for disc output and burning. This staged process helps keep importing, editing, menu design and output settings organized, while still allowing adjustments such as video bitrates and audio streams for users who want more control.

The application accepts a broad range of sources, including MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, AVI, WMV, QuickTime, DivX, MPEG-4/H.264, AVCHD, DV/HDV, DVD-VR and DVR-MS; additional stated input support includes WebM, MKV and FLV with H.264. DV and HDV camcorders can be captured directly. Output options include DVD-Video, Blu-ray BDMV, AVCHD and DivX Ultra. For supported standard-compliant MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC footage, Smart Rendering can retain existing encoded sections where possible, reducing re-encoding and helping preserve quality. Blu-ray H.264/AVC encoding offers an alternative to MPEG-2 when balancing picture quality and disc space.

TMPGEnc DVD Authoring Works is trialware and is offered for 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10, as well as Windows 11. Its interface is available in English, German and Japanese. It serves users producing personal video discs, camcorder compilations, photo slideshows or edited projects with custom menus and subtitles; output depends on the selected project format and the capabilities of the source material and disc equipment.
