Cppcheck is an static analysis tool for C/C++ code. Unlike C/C++ compilers and many other analysis tools it does not detect syntax errors in the code. Cppcheck primarily detects the types of bugs that the compilers normally do not detect. The goal is to detect only real errors in the code (i.e. have zero false positives). The main window of the application is kept simple, with all major functions stored in an upper toolbar fitted with intuitive icons. The rest of the space is taken up by a list that displays imported elements, along with details regarding, issue severity, line where it occurs, as well as a message to get an idea of what can be done.
