Windows Firewall Control 6.30.1.0 released Mar 29, 2026 (New Release)
Fixed: Mounting a volume in VeraCrypt while wfcUI.exe is elevated, does not refresh the Windows Firewall state and the existing firewall rules defined for files located on the encrypted drive do not work unless you manually switch the profile.
Fixed: A warning message is logged repeatedly in WFC event log if the service is stopped and the tray app can't connect to the service.
Fixed: Requesting elevation and cancelling the request triggers an unhandled exception in the tray app if the service is stopped.
Improved: Reduced workload on service side when notifications are disabled.

Improved: When Learning Mode is enabled and the tray process is not elevated, a notification will be displayed even if the program is digitally signed, otherwise such programs are silently ignored.

Fixed: Auto closing countdown timer is not displayed anymore in the notification dialog when the tray process is not elevated.

Fixed: A low-privilege user can exploit a named pipe vulnerability to turn Windows Firewall off or to clear the Security Event log. Starting with this version, only reading data can is allowed without elevation. Any action that requires changes to Windows Firewall state, firewall rules, settings, requires to elevate the tray app process and confirming the UAC prompt. This applies to all user account types.
Fixed: Learning Mode can be enabled from a standard user account.
Fixed: 'Request elevation' context menu item does not update when changing the language.
Fixed: Auditing settings regarding allowed and blocked connections are not preserved after an update.

Fixed: When using Learning Mode, if you manually delete a newly created rule, Learning Mode will not work anymore for the same app unless you restart WFC.
Fixed: Rules from specific authorized groups list are not preserved by Secure Rules if the group name contains the apostrophe character.
Fixed: While Secure Rules disables an unauthorized rule added from outside of WFC, it does not disable the rule if it was enabled from outside of WFC.
Fixed: Importing rules may not properly complete if Secure Rules is enabled.
