Windows Live Messenger 2011 15.4.3538.05 review by rexx74 (Jul 16, 2011)
Windows Live Messenger possibly the most crappy bloatware ever!

Newer did find out how to send messengers to my contacts. Installed Yahoo messenger instead and have added all my Microsoft messenger contacts in yahoo instead and it works just fine. Only problem is that most of my friend have given up messinging since they don`t know that they can use alternatives with their old MSM account.
Windows Live Messenger 2011 15.4.3508.11 review by Nyoyb (May 19, 2011)
The pseudo Facebook thing... What a crock. Obviously someone @ MS thinks they can hijack Facebook user by providing a faux portal, and then "tricking" them into slowly shifting to the MS functionalities. They've tried it with every bloody service out there, and it always failed. So will this. Lot of good features went out the door. New advert-bloat. I usually use an alternate client, just installed this for a file send. Worthless. I'm going back to running a FTP server, like I did before IM allowed file transfers. Latest IM software is over bloated, and full of useless crap made by coders trying to justify their jobs. By now, such utilities as IMs should only be maintained for security issues, and not constantly tampered with needlessly.

The software is mature. You can't invent a better mousetrap. Ballmer should quit the meetings and pep talks and start looking at the cancer of overstaffed departments that exist solely for the upkeep of minor utilities. Windows and everything MS is falling from grace because of this.

Don't install it unless you want to lose video/audio calling + picture/fileshare
Windows Live Messenger 2011 15.4.3508.11 review by JD (Mar 16, 2011)
This by far is the worst update I've installed. Sharing photos like I usually did was no longer possible and the interface is clunky and inefficient. The pairing with the main window's functions to Twitter, Facebook, etc is especially annoying. Also that you can't customize the name like before is a rather irritating factor. However to me, the file/photo sharing was the deal breaker. I also could not do the CTRL+Prnt Scrn and CTRL+V like normal in the chat window. Overall a very poor, messy, worthless update. I went back to the older version. Microsoft, listen to your customers for once.
Windows Live Messenger 2011 15.4.3508.11 review by Nayumi (Jan 16, 2011)
This new update is indeed more than awful.
Now that we can't have nicknames, being forced to show my real name feels intimidating and makes MSN feel more like a Facebook clone than anything else.
I would also love if handwriting was brought back, as I loved having the ability to draw in MSN.

The new features are mostly useless and rubbish, like badges and the expanded contacts window.

Seriously, I hope someone gets fired for this, they sure deserve it for this horrible, rubbish, crap update!
