MoSync IDE 2.7 full description

MoSync is a Software Development Kit which allows you to develop applications for all the major mobile platforms using a single environment and C/C++ code base on Windows or OS X.

Applications created with MoSync are indistinguishable from those produced by the iPhone SDK, Android SDK or corresponding packages for the various platforms. MoSync produces real native applications, packaged and ready for distribution in each platforms' native installation format.

The MoSync SDK allows you to create fully-featured mobile applications that take advantage of the powerful features offered by modern mobile devices. Using a single set of APIs, you can access graphics, communications, location, contacts and many other features. In MoSync 2.5 support for Native UI and OpenGL empowers you to create incredible user experiences across platforms, yet tailored and individually crafted to fully exploit the unique innovations of each platform.

With MoSync, you are developing using standard C/C++ in an Eclipse-based environment preconfigured with a set of MoSync-specific plugins to create a fluid experience from development and debugging to testing and deployment.

The same compiler, GCC 4.0 with a custom MoSync backend, is used for all platforms, ensuring consistent application behavior everywhere.

Since MoSync uses standard C/C++, a vast number of libraries are readily available to developers. Examples of libraries successfully used with MoSync are SDL, yajl, STLPort and SQLite.

Newlib ported to MoSync:
· We have also ported the Newlib standard C library to MoSync. Newlib is particularly suited for mobile devices and embedded systems.
