GOATS is short for Gassumo Outlook Android Task Synchronizer. GOATS is free software that will synchronize Outlook Tasks with an Android device. There are two parts to GOATS. The first part installs on the PC and the second on the Android device. This second piece provides the Android Tasks app. GOATS will sync tasks using either a USB cable or through wireless (not Wi-Fi, yet).

GOATS - Gassumo Outlook Android Tasks Synchronizer 1.0 full description

It is a simple set of applications capable of synchronizing your Microsoft Outlook tasks with your Android™ phone.

It consists of:

Goats for Outlook 2010 BETA (recommended) or GOATS for Outlook 2007 BETA (for Outlook 2007) - Outlook/Windows Application running in system tray. This application is a bridge between your Microsoft Outlook® and your Android™ phone. It is also actually doing the synchronization.

GOATS for Android™ - native Android™ application with the list of your tasks.

The synchronization works in these steps:

You have Outlook and GOATS for Windows running on your computer. You change tasks' subjects. due dates etc. in Outlook.
If you right click the GOATS icon and select "Synchronize..." or from time to time, you task lists is uploaded to the server. The license key you entered in settings is used to distinguish between different GOATS users so keep it private.
GOATS for Android are running on your Android phone. It uses the same license key. To download tasks from the server to you phone, use "Menu" > "Download".
You can also change task attributes in the Android application.
When you are done, you upload the task list to the server using "Menu" > "Upload".
The Outlook synchronizer periodically checks for the new file on the server. If there is a new file uploaded from your phone, it gets downloaded.
The synchronization algorithm makes sure new tasks are create in Outlook or uploaded to the server and the latest changes are populated.
