The Driver Database (DD) is a highly versatile program developed to manage a transport business for the sole operator. Unlike other transport systems the Driver Database is capable of serving a large diversity of transport businesses. Taxi, Chauffeuring, Volunteer-Driving, Wedding Cars, Couriering, Driving Instructor, Haulage, etc. This is achieved by a generic interface and providing database controls and features common to a variety of situations involving transport.
The Driver Database hosts an extensive range of features and facilities but is extremely user-friendly with a well-designed interface. Give Driver Database a try to see how useful it can be for your business!
Create a Query by selecting a field and set a condition to perform an evaluation on a value. Return all records where the Mileage is greater than 50, or generate a list of records where the town equals Doncaster, etc. Once you have a Query Report a 'Format' Button will appear. Use this to prepare a 'Query Report' for printing. No changes are made to the database by running a 'Query Report' so experiment with it as much as you like.
Transport sheets are generated in a separate window with word processing capabilities. The window is very similar to 'Microsoft's WordPad'. All the formatting is done for you. All that's left for you to do is load you printer with A4 paper and click the printer icon.
The 'Import Record' is used in connection with the 'Export Record' facility and is especially useful for reversing a delete record operation. if you export a database record prior to deleting it, you can move the exported record to the 'Import folder' and restore the record. Import/Export files are very small (1 K). These files can be shared with other companies using the DD program, and under these circumstances you could send and receive these files in an email attachment. Once received you would save the attachment to your 'Import Folder' located in the 'DD' directory.
There's two main reasons for exporting a record. You can export a record prior to performing a deletion, you can re-instate it if necessary. To reinstate a saved export file move the file from the 'Export Folder' to your 'Import Folder'. These folders are located in the 'DD' directory. You can export a record with a different Date/Time, simply check the 'Use this Date/Time' control and set the date and time from the drop-down lists. The export and import files are verified by the program for the correct format before acceptance to the 'DD' database.
The 'Search and Replace' facilty is an invaluable tool. Imagine you have misspelt a clients name and there are 356 records to amend, correcting each record one at a time would take approx... a hour. Using the 'Search and Replace' facilty would take less than 1 second.
