Coyote Forte application was developed to be a sample player. It plays prerecorded audio clips (“samples”) in response to Midi commands, such as those generated by a Midi keyboard when a person plays the keys. What sets Forte apart from most other sample players is that it is highly optimized for playing piano samples. When used in conjunction with a good sample file it can produce a very convincing emulation of a grand piano.

Coyote Forte 1.1 full description

Coyote Forte application was developed to be a sample player. It plays prerecorded audio clips (“samples”) in response to Midi commands, such as those generated by a Midi keyboard when a person plays the keys.

What sets Forte apart from most other sample players is that it is highly optimized for playing piano samples. When used in conjunction with a good sample file it can produce a very convincing emulation of a grand piano, complete with all the subtleties of a real piano.

FEATURES:


· up to 160 voices of polyphony (subject to constraints imposed by the host PC)
· plays “gig” files – the most common format for very high quality samples
· handles up to 32 layers, including pedal-up and pedal-down layers
· handles sustain pedal, including “half-damper” position
· can be configured to play a “resonance” file, for use with those samples which do not include “pedal-down” layers
· adjustable Midi-velocity to loudness mapping
· high-quality reverb with settings for room size, reverb amount and reverb damping
· optional limiter for higher effective volume with minimal clipping
· uses the processor’s Streaming SIMD Extensions-2 (SSE2) on Pentium-4 and recent AMD Athlon CPUs for highest possible performance
· handles compressed samples, allowing it to play the very largest sample sets available
· implements a “head model” of the human head, in order to produce a much more realistic sound when you are listening with headphones.
